Student Information

Your First Time?

If it is your first time at Yoga Dojo, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to fill out our registration form. If you have health issues, you will need to allow extra time to talk with your instructor about these before class so you are given the correct guidance and advice during class.

What to Wear?

Wear comfortable, loose or form fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Layers help to adjust for temperature changes during and after class. Yoga clothing is available in studio store for purchase.

What To Do When You Arrive?

We have parking in the back of the building. Remove your shoes (yoga is practiced in bare feet) and check-in with the instructor, they will answer any questions you may have. When you enter the studio, just unroll your mat and either lay on your back or sit in a comfortable position until the class begins. You may like to spend this time to prepare for the class by closing your eyes and slowing and deepening your breathing.

What To Bring?

We have all the equipment you would need, free of charge! For hygiene reasons we encourage students to have their own yoga mat. If you have a yoga mat, bring it along. If not, we do carry non-toxic, eco-friendly, superior quality mats in our store.

You may want to bring along a bottle of water to drink before or after class. It should not be necessary to drink during class.

If you are a bit of a sweaty yogi, you may also like to bring along a hand towel to keep your hands / feet from slipping on your mat.

What To Eat?

It’s important not to have a full stomach when practicing yoga. This may make you feel uncomfortable and will limit the benefits you will receive from the class. You can eat a snack before you arrive but a meal is not recommended before you practice.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, please talk with your doctor before beginning any exercise program. If you choose to attend yoga classes, it is very important that you let your instructor know you’re pregnant prior to the start of class. This will allow us to work with you to develop a practice appropriate for the various stages of your pregnancy.

Support your Practice

Support your practice by taking a Private yoga lesson. Spend an hour with an expert teacher to receive specific attention tailored to your needs before you begin group classes or in addition to. Be sure to ask for guidance as you build your practice. Connect with your teacher(s) with questions around your practice or being now by emailing us at info@myyogadojo.com. We are here to support you on your path.

Cell Phones

We strive to cultivate a peaceful environment, free of distractions and outside interferences. Please be courteous to your fellow students and turn your cell phone off before you enter the studio.
